The activities program is an integral part of the skilled nursing care, treatment, and quality of life goals for the residents of Cripple Creek Care Center, with activities designed to enrich our residents' lives, provide cognitive and physical stimulation, and encourage social interaction. Recreational and social opportunities are offered in individual and group settings, with activities planned specifically for the varied needs and capabilities of our family of residents.
Some in-house activities include cooking, ice cream socials, crafts, painting, games, reading and discussion groups, and exercise programs. Outside activities include shopping, trips to the gym for workouts, movies, dining, special event outings, nature drives, and hiking trips.
Special events provide opportunities for expanded family and community interaction. The Board and staff host an annual Christmas dinner for all residents and their families. Children from the nearby elementary school visit residents on special holidays like Easter, Valentine's Day, and Halloween. New Year's is celebrated with a special party, and all residents have their birthdays celebrated.
